Toy Guns

Is this a real gun or is it a toy?

Can you tell from here? How well do you think you could tell from ten or twenty feet away? How about at night? If someone confronted you with this and pointed it at your head what would you think?

The Franklin Police Department is coming across an alarming number of extremely realistic looking toy handguns. They have been found on youths walking with them in their waistband,  and between the seats in a vehicle.

Law Enforcement officers are trained to recognize, and respond to threats. From any distance an officer seeing these "toys" will not be able to tell if it is real or fake. The results could be tragic.

Parents should talk to their children and check to see if they own any of these "toys". Often we find that when purchased from the store they have a bright orange cap on them, but when we see them again they have been changed to make them identical from a real weapon. Some of these guns shoot pellets and have removable magazines. The action, and noise they make is identical to a real weapon.

Is this one real or a toy? Would you ever want to find out?
