On Memorial Day 2001 the Franklin Police Department showed off a new unit of the Department. The Honor Guard was formed in the beginning of this year under the direction of Deputy Chief Williams. The Honor Guard is used to pay tribute to fallen officers, war veterans, and also to help celebrate special occasions. We look forward to being representatives of the community for many years to come. There are 16 volunteer members of the unit. This includes three bag pipers. The unit also practices on their own time. All members are police officers working the streets of Franklin.
