FRANKLIN POLICE DEPARTMENT
LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPLORER PROGRAM

Franklin Police Explorers Receive Charter

On Thursday, May 8, 2003 the Franklin Police Department received an official charter from the Boy Scouts of America to operate a Law Enforcement Explorer Post.  The charter was presented to Deputy Chief Stephen Williams by Len Thatcher of the Boys Scouts of America Old Colony Council.

The Law Enforcement Explorer program is for young adults ages 14 through 21 who might be interested in a career in law enforcement.  The Explorers work side by side Franklin Police officers and are taught certain police procedures.  They take part in competitions and events throughout the year.  The Franklin post currently has 38 members.
